I got 1313 points. I got max reps on every exercise (20kg kettlebell) except the last one (117), so I’ll probably break my record next time. I just have to get bigger kettlebells.

Great idea! I tried the Pentahlon yesterday for the first time with a 16kg, will try a 20kg now that I have a comfortable benchmark score. I would like to suggest that you substitute the last exercise (push press) for a power endurance exercise such as doing burpees with a KB snatch on alternate arms for the full 6 minutes. The addition of this type of exercise will allow those with gifts in cardio endurance some chance to place well agaist a pure power lifter.

I’m digging this Pentathlon. My first time score using the 28kg for all but the 1/2 Snatch (16kg) was: 107 50 77 80 40 for 1119. After a few more weeks of training, I should be able to bring that score up a little. Thanks Coach!

yeah…starting with a 12 or 16 is WAY too much.. It doesn’t matter if you are athletic or not…people can really hurt themselves if they aren’t careful and don’t know what they are doing.

@id0stuff well perhaps they are famously ‘from russia’ but russia neighbours with china. its feasible that they crossed a non existent border, at some time. my strength coach believes that they are far older than russia. as they were used for exercise, and sport in russia, but were used for a different means in ancient china.

are there adjustable kettlebells that start at 5lbs and dont bruise your forearms? im new to using kettlebells and read reviews about adjustable ones bruising forearms because of their shape compared to traditional nonadjustable kettlebells

This guy is a bit off with his suggestions. If you have not used any weights before or are out of shape you must start with low weights for several months till your joints and tendons are strenghthened. Kettlebells are very dangerous for the back and spine until you are use to them.Just my advice…you can take it or leave it.

@chewbaka05 You can stop lower back pain by holding your stomach in and strengthening the stomach muscles to the point that they support your vertabrea. Also specific stretching exercises will help. I recommend advanced pilates training to correct this problem.

Since most people are going to buy it, use it once, then stick it in the corner and never touch it again, maybe they should just get the one that is their favourite colour?

dude i started on a 12kg, im 24, play quite a bit of sports, stocky, 5’9-5’10 ish, and 16 would be way to much, for reduced injury and the rest i would go 12 or even less and then work up, 16 is defo way too much
remember kettlebell exercises are predominantly cardio as well as working the muscle groups, so if u want to get thru the exercises you need to do a large set of reps, hence an easy to use weight, start 12 and work up i say
